I am planning. on using vdmx to create a digital video collage of goodbyes and hellos. I want to look at the way we great each other and how that potentially has changed in recent times. The photos shown below are my process for searching for videos and using youtube to mp4 to snatch them from the web. I enjoy finding older videos. They seem to have much more character and are less easily recognizable. I feel like that takes away from the artistic intent often. As well as hellos and goodbyes I enjoy the idea of playing around with breaks in audio and creating a somewhat awkward environment for the viewer. Taking the viewer out of the piece lets them dive back in only to get even more immersed in the piece. I plan on using premiere to edit the videos to length. The edited parameters on VDMX are a little to difficult to use. In premiere I will also be able to mess with the audio and really achieve the look. When done with the videos I will export them into VDMX and que them to a key to easily turn them on and off at will.
